Ship Vibration Analysis Study
SHIP VIBRATION ANALYSIS
The
purpose of vibration analysis is to estimate the dynamic response of a vessel
to different excitation forces and to assist the design engineers in eliminating
significant vibration problems. Depending on the ship design stage, vibration
analysis approaches vary significantly in their complexity and accuracy. The
effort to design against severe vibration in ship structures should start from an early concept design stage.
Figure shows typical ship vibration analysis approaches at various ship design
stages.
